Flight Controller has been submitted to the appStore and should be available soon.

The most significant improvements in version 2 is the tracking of metrics that help players improve their motor and cognitive skills.  You can now see at a glance how the player is progressing in three important areas.  These include speed of dragging an item, percentage of touches that touch a valid object and percentage of touches that end on a valid target.  With these metrics you can better understand gross and fine motor skill improvement, eye-hand coordination and visual spacial performance.

New Metrics:
√ Motor Skill improvement by tracking speed of movement over time
√ Eye Hand Coordination and Cognitive Processing by tracking touches that end on a valid target
√ Visual Spacial Processing by tracking touches that touch a valid object
√ Cognitive Processing by monitoring percentage of exercises at each level of difficulty

New Progress Dashboard
√ New Dashboard with multiple graphs for tracking progress

New Graphs:
√ Tracking how fast the player drags an object to its target
√ Tracking the percentage if touches touch a playable object
√ Tracking the percentage of touches end on the correct target
√ Percentage of exercises completed on each level of play

Just uploaded version 1.2 to the App Store.  Should be available in about a week.

Traffic Controller is designed for stroke and traumatic brain injury survivors to improve motor skills through entertaining and engaging repetitive exercises. It is designed for use with little to no assistance. The interface is uncluttered unlike commercial games the level of difficulty only changes when the users chooses a different level.  This allows the user to control the difficulty of the therapy.  A graph displays scores over time to gauge improvement.

New features in version 1.2 include:
  • Improved user interface for the graph
  • Implemented difficulty levels of Easy, Medium and Difficult
  • Levels of difficulty only increase by user action.
  • Improved the main game screen to display difficulty level

mindMender Traffic Control Screen Shots

posted Feb 14, 2013, 1:24 PM by Mike Zachry   [ updated Feb 15, 2013, 5:51 PM ]

mindMender Traffic Control is being developed similar to line drawing games like Flight Controller and Harbor Master.  The intent is create an engaging and entertaining game specifically to assist in motor skill rehabilitation of stroke and traumatic brain injury survivors.  Below are some preliminary screen shots.

Guiding airplanes and helicopters to the airstrip and heliport accumulates points, establishes high scores and increments or decrements hours since serious injury.  A round of the game ends when a collision occurs.  Rounds played over during a certain timeframe are grouped into Sessions.  Sessions are graphed by averaging the scores of the rounds in a session to reveal progress.

This game is currently in development and any comments or suggestions are encouraged.
